Death is scary enough, why does planning have to be scary also?
The short answer is, it doesn’t have to be. It can be confusing because Wills, Trusts, and other documents are literally not written in English (some parts anyway.) This article from CNBC (link below) does a pretty good job of explaining the parts of an estate plan and why they are important. (It does get an F though for suggesting that online documents are a good alternative. My probate experience can tell you that online documents are often worse than not having anything. If you want to hear some real-world stories, just ask me.) Planning isn’t hard or confusing if you find an estate planning attorney who is a good fit for you. At Georgia Wills, Trusts, and Probate Firm we pride ourselves on making the process easy, non-scary and understandable.
